When
processing mail or freight articles, you can print single parcel
identifier (SPI) labels through label printers. The interface to the label
printers is completely configurable so that if you are using a type of
printer that has not yet been not catered for, it is a simple matter to
interface it. It is also possible to easily design different label layouts.

Single
Parcel Identification (SPI) & Connote Numbering
|
Series
numbering is originally set up in the Comet or Whirlpool configuration area. The
creation of the numbers is done through drivers or interpreters. It provides
Single Parcel Identifiers (SPI) and connote numbering based on whatever formula
is required.
A
particular series numbering may have multiple number blocks allocated to it. Two
divisions may use the same series numbering while offering different services,
zones and rates. Also different services within the one carrier may have different
series numbering.
SPI
and connote numbering are automatically applied when they are found to be
attached to the current service or the carrier. By attaching the numbering to
the carrier it becomes the default numbering for all it’s services, unless overridden
by a particular service.
